When will I get 501c3 status?
The IRS website indicates it takes 2 - 12 months to process applications for status. There are several instances when applicants receive notification within 2 months. Since COVID recent clients in 2021 and 2022 have received notification within 4 months.
Update 9/15/23: Clients in 2023 have received their status within 2 months.
Will there be other fees?
No. If you are 501c3 on Demand Client the $275 fee is in your service fee.
Yes. If you are not a 501c3 on Demand Client. The cost for filing 501c3 status is $275 paid directly to the IRS. You need to make an account associated with your EIN/SSN. For security reasons, you are guided through the process of setting up this account and paying the fee.
Yes. There is a cost to register the organization within a state. Each state will have a filing fee to register the organization which ranges from $10 - $400 depending on the state. ALL clients are responsible for paying this fee on their own.
What happens if I do not receive status?
Cheronda has a 100% success rate; all clients have received 501c3 status the first application attempt. She guarantees the service. If Cheronda and team files your 501c3 paperwork and you do not receive status, Cheronda will refile at no cost to you.
How do you communicate during the service?
There is an email address specifically for clients to use. This is the main point of communication. In the beginning you will receive contact information for myself and the project assistant(s) working with you. If your e-mail inquiry requires a follow-up call or a video tutorial further information on how to schedule a call or receive the tutorial will be provided.
Calls will happen using a link provided via email. You are allowed to invite board members to the calls. Involving key decision-makers is key to success! Online calls are recorded and placed in the Google Folder shared with you.
Clients receiving all services except "Chat w/Cheronda" will have a Google Folder. This is where video recordings are placed, resources, guides, templates, budgets, and other key information to help the organization find success.
Do you write grants?
No. I do not write grants for organizations.
How do you help with funding?
There are 3 major areas of funding: donations, grants and generating your own income (yes nonprofits can earn an income). My team and I assist the organization with first developing the budget and then identifying funding sources for the organization. The funding strategy and sources are specific to the organization.
What happens if we do not have funds to pay?
As a nonprofit founder your number one job is raising money. When first starting a nonprofit organization you will need a founding board. I encourage founders to talk to their founding board about making a time and financial contribution. This will help fund initial cost associated with starting a nonprofit organization.
What if I still have questions before starting?
